If you cancel, your deposit
is non-refundable. Cancellations must be received IN WRITING.
Money is non-refundable from 45 to 20 days before your arrival
date, but you may apply the amount, less the deposit, to
another trip within one year of your originally scheduled
trip. From within 20 days, money is nontransferable and
non-refundable. If uncontrollable travel conditions prevent
your arrival to Raven Retreat, you can reschedule another
trip or have fees returned except for the deposit - less
$25 processing fee - which you may use toward another trip
for one year from your original trip date. If you think cancellation
may be a possibility, purchasing trip insurance from a travel
agent is an option. |

Yes, Raven Retreat is
in a very rural area of Maine, but not necessarily remote.
You CAN get here from there!
DRIVING: Consult a good atlas
or get Map Quest on the web, then look at I-95 to Bangor,
I-395 toward Ellsworth / Bar Harbor,
Rt. 1A toward Ellsworth/Bar Harbor, and Rt. 1 North from
Ellsworth to Steuben, the town of the Retreat. You will get
more detailed
directions after you book a retreat date. ( From Bangor to
Steuben is about 1hr. 20 minutes, not counting a stop at
the L. L. Bean factory Outlet in Ellsworth...)

IF YOU FLY OR BUS INTO BANGOR--------THE SHUTTLE THAT COMES
TOWARD THE RETREAT IS RECOMMENDED!
Here is the SHUTTLE SCHEDULE:
3pm pick-up at all major terminals in Bangor. Arrives in Milbridge
4:45pm where you will be met. ( 10 minutes from Retreat )
11:30 am departure from Milbridge the day you leave the Retreat.
(Retreat gives you a ride there around 10 am) Arrives at
Bangor terminals around 1 pm.
COST OF SHUTTLE: $22 round trip ( purchase ticket when you
get on the bus )
SCHEDULE YOUR ARRIVAL IN BANGOR FOR
MEETING THE SHUTTLE well
before 3pm to allow enough time to get luggage, etc. and
be curb side to flag the bus. The bus company is alerted
to all
Retreat arrivals that plan to use the shuttle and will be
looking for you.( The bus company lives on our road. We get
eggs from
their hens! )
SCHEDULE YOUR DEPARTURE FROM BANGOR for well after 1 pm to
allow time for security, etc. YOU DO NOT NEED A CAR DURING THE RETREAT.
You may need to spend a night in Bangor if you can not
get an arrival or departure time to mesh with the shuttle.
There are inexpensive hotels near the airport.
And If you are arriving w/ a group of retreaters, with
a schedule that does not mesh with the shuttle, there is
the option of hiring a TAXI to come directly
to the retreat which costs about $100 one way.

You won't want them to,
but the activities as a group officially end Monday after
the day's activity. Monday night you'll be free to peruse
local eating options on your own, or just relax and raid
the frig at the Retreat. Official check-out time is Tuesday
morning at 10 a.m. |
